I had an old gelding that was diagnosed with EPM and we started the cheaper pink medicine. I was told with EPM that it is a 6 week treatment and that at the end of the six weeks what we had was as good as it would probably get. My gelding was 25 and was a stiff old guy anyway. After a week of treatment the blood work came back and he had West Nile Virus (all my horses have had their shots since WNV started and now received two shots a year for WNV) not EPM and the 6 week prognosis was about the same. He did get a little better but he had age against him. He kept falling when the other horses were around him because he would turn to fast. It was very hard to watch and each time we needed a vet to get him up (3 times). I am sorry to say that he didn't make it. He made the four week mark and just lost the will to get up and I had to make the decision to put him to sleep. You have youth on your side. You have at least two more weeks to see some changes. Keep up the good work and I will be thinking of you.
